Jerry has played chess since the 1970's. In addition to chess, Jerry has earned over fifty certificates in Behavioral Health Education from Allegheny University of Health Sciences. They range from Childhood and Adolescence Development, DSM-IV Disorders, Disturbances in Adolescent and Childhood Development and their meaning to the Criminal Justice System. During his 35 year career, he routinely taught chess to others. Now that he has retired, he has been teaching for Shining Knights.
He has been a member of both the Main Line and North Penn chess clubs. During the last decade his rating has been in the 1500s. During the Fall of 2014, Jerry has been playing chess with another player rated over 2000 (expert level) and has been winning 2-1 games.
