Out west in Colorado, Daniel LaBauve (unrated) of Eldorado Elementary won his very first tournament by going 4-0, receiving a provisional rating of 1144!Â Daniel's performance wasn't quite enough to push his team over the top, despite their top four players scoring 9.0 team points. Mountain View Elementary, a K-3 school, finished just a half-point ahead with 9.5.Â Summit View Elementary, the host school, was a close third place with 8.0. Two-time U.S. Open champion Michael Mulyar was on hand to analyze the children's games.
